Type Design - ARCHE

ARCHE is a typeface inspired by the shape of the Deptford Station Carriage Ramp in the Deptford Market Yard, London, SE8 4BX

 

The shape of the typeface is fitted into an imaginary structure frame that hosts the arch shape doors on the building. The baseline for the typeface is tilted so that it challenges the traditional viewing pattern.

 

Some viewers could feel the typeface is part of the building that exists in a 3 denominational space, rather than a 2D vector graphic.
